What would you say to a political roleplaying simulation - a “polsim” - which has graced the world wide web for over 22 years? Founded in 2002, Politics UK is an online community of people from all over the world with an interest in British politics. In this day and age the game is entirely Discord-based, making it easier than ever to jump in and join the fun. Players create a fictitious Member of Parliament to represent them, joining one of the major parties and forging a political career at the heart of Westminster. You can become a government minister or opposition spokesperson, lead your party and even serve as Prime Minister. Our administration team generate news and scenarios for you to engage with, but it’s the players who write the story - building a new Britain, and a new world, according to their own design. Our friendly and engaged playerbase has included people who have gone on to serve in real-world elected office as councillors and even as an MP! In our midst are civil servants, Parliamentary staffers and think-tank associates. But you don’t have to be an expert to play, nor do you have to be British. Our players come from all over the world and if you’re interested and engaged, we’ll help you with the rest. In-game, one quarter of the year progresses each real-world week. The present round started following the 2024 general election. We’re a friendly and open-minded community where spirited but cordial debate is welcome.
