𝖉𝖎𝖘𝖈𝖑𝖆𝖎𝖒𝖊𝖗 — this rp does not follow exact historical events. historical surnames will be used, but under no circumstances do we intend to encourage or allow the portrayal of actual historical figures. any similarities are unintentional. 𝔣𝔲𝔩𝔩 𝔭𝔩𝔬𝔱 not long ago, the english crown was rocked by tragedy. the death of the beloved and respected king geoffrey left not only the country but also his family in uncertain waters. his eldest son had been a delicate and sickly child, and though he had received the standard training and tutelage of his station, their father had prepared to name the second son as heir, always anticipating calamity for the eldest. fate had other ideas, though, and now the eldest has claimed his birthright. reality, however, is rarely as easy as one’s training might lead one to believe. in a bid to strengthen current alliances, and to forge new ones, the new king proposed the idea of a royal summit, inviting other ruling families from near and far to england. a notable amount responded with willingness, and whether out of altruistic interest or trying to get their claws into the new king, it’s anyone’s guess. england is not the only kingdom to have suffered, and rebuilding and forging new alliances is in the best interest of everyone. however, if anyone was hoping for a simple and easy convergence, they would be disappointed. having arrived in september, bonds are being tested and tempers flare just as easily as affections bloom and personal standings are improved. this summit is the first of its kind in scale, and whether it will truly result in the sort of connection and strength the king has hoped for is anyone’s guess. still, the last thing he can do now is show doubt. he is not his father, but he has just as much right to his position, and he must do what he can to make sure they know this. his own family included. the king is dead, long live the king.
