Welcome to The Union of the Clarana Islands! This is a political simulation that takes place in a fictional country with a complex history of corruption and corrosion. Despite being in the shining paradise-like region of the Caribbean, the Clarana Islands have faced nothing but violence, neglect and decline since they were settled by British colonists in the 1600s. This is a unique fictional nation, with many quirks in how it functions, who populates it, and with detailed lore at your fingertips you can become invested in this place and its future. The Claranan people want change, and you can be the one to give it to them! 🏛️ Run for political office 🏛️ As the Clarana Islands face yet another breaking point after an already troubled history of civil wars, military dictatorships, and government corruption, you can try to make a difference for the people of this nation (or you can choose to be yet another backroom dealer). Whatever sort of politician you want to be, you can! Run for either the Senate or the House of Representatives, lead one of the nation's political parties, become the Prime Minister or a member of their cabinet, write legislation or work to deny its ascension to the Presidential office. 🟥 Engage in Party Politics 🟦 The Clarana Islands is deeply entrenched in a two-party system. You can make the choice to try and break it as a member of an anti-establishment party, or you can be the vast majority who instead engage in factionalism within the two dominant parties, neither of which seem to have a membership with the same goals in mind. 🗞️ Be a Journalist📺 Use newspaper articles or television networks to push the political agenda of a specific party, or just do real, unbiased news coverage. Events will occur regularly to spark media coverage, and there is also the opportunity to be the host of a television program such as a talk show or radio interview.
