Heliophobe

Heliophobe. You'll never see the light of day again. The rays which have grazed your face since birth; robbed of your presence for the rest of your eternity. A blindfold slipping off your face, from the corner of your eye you see an eerie glow emanating around the hall. You shake it off, only to find yourself strapped against your will. You try to move, yet you can't feel a thing. You scream, but only silence is heard. Purgatory for it's victims, they call it The Laboratory. You and a dozen others have been taken away, stripped of your free will and scalped of your sanity. Hooked up to machines that monitor every aspect of your vessel, with every needle stabbing into whats left of your hope of escaping. Soon, you will be dragged around and used as human rats for experiments too gruesome for even the most vile of military scientists. Your mind and body are no longer one, you are conscious but the flesh which encapsulates is under new management. You feel a heartbeat, and with that pulse you realize you have a chance. Not a chance, actually, but a choice. Do you regain control, be your own master once more? Or do you raise the white flag and be left at the mercy of the scientists? Does it even matter in the end what you choose, has your fate been written from the start... so much to process and so little time to decide.
