Thirty years ago, the world witnessed the first Emergence—a phenomenon where millions of people randomly gained supernatural abilities. Those affected were marked with celestial symbols on their body, while astronomers discovered new stars and planets in the sky. With each subsequent Emergence, new magical abilities emerged alongside new celestial phenomena. The Emergence didn’t discriminate; it affected people of all ages, from the elderly to newborns. These individuals, known as Celestials, faced hardships and widespread discrimination in society. Some chose to conceal their powers, while others integrated into modern life. A group of Celestials even founded a sanctuary country, a haven free from prejudice known as Astra. Eleven Emergences have since occurred, each expanding the ranks of the empowered. Today, in the year of 20XX, 10% of the global population has been touched by the Emergence, wielding extraordinary powers. In just a couple of years, Astra had become one of the most populous countries in the world, with around 600 million people living there—Celestials and Non-Celestials alike. However, it quickly became one of the most dangerous places on Earth, as not everyone with powers could be trusted to act with benevolence.
