The setting of the story is during the 1980's, where heroes are sought after for hope or antagonism, stepping out of decades of being divorced from the activity of the Justice Society of America. Despite the force of lawfulness and the weight of a secret identity, the world is desperate for heroes to emerge in the wake of seemingly insurmountable crimes.
