Welcome to Fishing Australia Discord. I've started the discord as a place for people that want to talk, learn, brag/share or discuss everything related to fishing in Australia. I personally have only just started fishing again in early 2022 after not fishing since my childhood 30 odd years ago. So I've spent a lot of time on google and YouTube looking for answers to my 98985805 questions. While there is plenty of info on learning to fish etc. in general online, I've actually found it quite hard to find specific info for the places I fish and what rods or rig or bait or even how much bait to use etc. I've looked at fishing forums ,reddit and any other related sites that might have what I want and while some have a lot of good info, there is not a lot better than hearing directly from the guys who were out there yesterday (or today) about what exactly is working for them. I understand a lot of "fishermen" don't like giving up their secret spots or their special way to rig or what bait is currently working. But I'm all about openness and helping those around to get involved. So the idea here is to have a open community that people can talk about their catches or where they caught or what equipment they are using for what fish and what fish are biting where and what bait is working etc. Its good for those that want to learn to have some helpful old hands around to answer questions and grow the fishing community and will allow those of you that are old hands at it to perhaps meet some new people and make some great new mates who you can go fishing with in your area. You could even ask our interstate friends about the area your going on holidays so that you can get the low down on where to fish before you go.
